No really, it\u2019s the worst time to be on a diet this month!<\/h5>\n<h5>It has become quite the tradition to anticipate and watch Raya advertisements every year, something as essential as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brand360.com.my\/chinese\/2018\/christmas-2018-brands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u>Christmas advertisement<\/u><\/a> tradition in the UK. A few of these advertisements are so memorable we\u2019re still talking about it for years.<\/h5>\n<h5>So, what are the ads that made into our list of loveable classics? Let\u2019s find out:<\/h5>\n<h4>No.6: Snickers Understands &#8211; Snickers (2017)<\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xBKSsN1j35U\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h5>In this casual, laid-back advert, Snickers gave us a picture of what it\u2019s like to fast like a Muslim during Ramadan. While other brands may have large production teams for their Raya campaign, <em>Snickers<\/em> used a vlogger style with almost no script. It worked and got the <em>Snickers<\/em> brand message out. You know, the one about eating a Snickers when you\u2019re hungry.<\/h5>\n<h4>No. 5: Aida\u2019s Raya Challenge &#8211; TNB (2017)<\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nFhh6qQ2ub4\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h5>Humourous with on-point messaging, this <em>TNB<\/em> advert is both engaging and colourful. It tells the story of Aida and the many challenges she faced as Raya approaches. <em>TNB<\/em> got their message of \u2018family comes first\u2019 fittingly well.<\/h5>\n<h4><strong>No. 4: Suparjo &amp; Raju &#8211; Petronas (2004)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ox5FpSOTXbw\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h5>Back in 2004, Deepavali and Hari Raya were a few weeks apart, thus it was called \u2018Deeparaya\u2019 that year. Written and directed by the late Yasmin Ahmad, this advert became the talk of the town for years to come. It\u2019s a tale of friendship lost and found again by two boys of different races. The advert is so memorable because it has a song, nostalgia, and a warm feeling at the end. Everyone loves a happy ending.<\/h5>\n<h4>No.3: Atuk &#8211; Nissan (2014)<\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Bdl0XlXrZ18\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h5>In this heartfelt advertisement filled with kampung vibes and gorgeous scenes, <em>Nissan<\/em> tells a story of a grandfather and his millennial grandson. <em>Nissan<\/em> also took the chance to tell viewers that their cars have been around for generations and the memories a car can create. We also enjoyed the plot twist at the end.<\/h5>\n<h4><strong>No.2: Goodbye, Good Buy &#8211; Mudah.my (2017)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TeYxTcBlNjg\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h5><em>Mudah.my<\/em> released this Raya advertisement in the form of a catchy and \u2018sempoi\u2019 song. Surprisingly, this short advert has everything; a theme, a lesson, an ear-worm, and a fitting brand message that you can find and sell anything on their website.<\/h5>\n<h4><strong>No.1: From A Father\u2019s Heart &#8211; Astro (2017)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jUiq56WMMm0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h5><em>Astro<\/em> adopted the tearjerker genre for Raya in 2017. Based on a real-life story, the advert showed the journey of a father who has a son with autism. Tears were shed. Although there were no Astro products or services surreptitiously slipped in the advertisement, it did fit into their Raya branding theme of that year; forgiveness and family.<\/h5>\n<h4><strong>In Conclusion<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h5>Many brands took this chance to celebrate Raya with the public while getting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brand360.com.my\/chinese\/2018\/brand-story-earns-trust-win-customers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u>their brand messages<\/u><\/a> out. Not only is it a great <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brand360.com.my\/chinese\/2018\/5-tactics-to-achieve-brand-awareness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u>brand awareness tactic<\/u><\/a>, but it\u2019s also a great and indirect way to connect with the target audience on one of their happiest moments of the year.<\/h5>\n<h5>Some common themes used in many Raya adverts are family, forgiveness, connections, and understanding. It\u2019s also common for these seasonal adverts to be emotional, because emotions connect with the audience better.
